Here at Morningside Cycles you are a priority, your bike is a priority and your bike’s service is why we exist.
At Morningside Cycles, we have one main driver: to fix your bike correctly the first time.
We take great pride in making sure that when your bike leaves our workshop it is ready to go, it is safe and you will always have your bike back in better condition. Too often, the larger repair shops aren’t able to fix a bike on first attempt and this is not only annoying for the customer but can also end up becoming quite expensive, especially if something is misdiagnosed. Large bicycle shops either don’t have a primary focus on cycle repairs or have high staff turnovers leading to a lesser level of bike servicing or even a change of hands during the service itself.
You know that when your bike comes to Morningside Cycles, Craig will have worked on it with precision and care. He will make sure you understand how to care for your bike and always advise you appropriately.
Tiered Servicing
At Morningside Cycles we believe that servicing should be simple which is why we have created our tiered servicing structure. A tiered system allows you to get the best value for the work required on your bike, it also allows us to check over the entire bike making sure it is safe to ride.
Bronze £50
- A quick clean and inspection of the bike frame, drivetrain and components
- Adjustment of gears, front and rear derailleurs
- Adjustment of brakes, cable and cable disc
- Chain care including lubing and drivetrain lubing where necessary
- Hardware testing, all bolts and hardware are re-tightened to specification where necessary
- Straightening of the saddle, headset area including handlebars and wheel positioning where necessary
- Tyre & tube inflation and inspection, front and rear
Silver £70
- All bronze service activities plus
- A thorough clean and inspection of frame, any points of note will be mentioned to customer
- Check and adjustment of bearings where possible includes wheel hubs and headset
- Muck removal from key drivetrain components
- Minor wheel truing
- Discounted cable and housing replacement labour costs
Gold £90
- All silver service activities plus
- Major and minor wheel truing
- In-depth Drivetrain muck removal and clean
- Bearing replacement labour costs
- Further discounted cable and housing replacement labour costs
Bikes equipped with hydraulic brakes that require bleeding or attention will incur additional costs in most cases.
Diamond Service £150
The complete service is generally for bikes that get a lot of use and costs £150. It includes a complete overhaul of your bike from nose to tail.
The complete service includes all gold service activities plus:
- Deep clean and inspection of frame
- Drivetrain removal and deep, ultrasonic cleaning
- Replacement of all cables and housing where necessary
- Professional wheel truing or rebuilding including wheel hub overhaul
- All cables and housing are included in this service
Specific Repairs
Specific and basic fixes are always on offer at Morningside Cycles, please get in touch so we can create a specific quote for you. Often this depends on the condition of the bike and the problem at hand. We can give you basic costing over the phone but we will need to see your bike in-person to provide an accurate price.
